Human Races
In the 23rd century, humanity has evolved beyond old-world ethnic labels. Seven distinct cultural lineages — plus those forged in laboratories and those that may not be human at all — define the peoples of the Seven Realms.
While the great cultural mixing of the 21st century blended old-world ethnicities, centuries of space colonization had the opposite effect. Generations of exposure to cosmic radiation appear to have activated something deep within the human cell nucleus — strengthening ancestral genetic codes and driving lineages toward greater ethnic distinction rather than homogeneity. Many theorize this is the same radiation responsible for humanity’s psionic awakening.
Cosmic Radiation — Nucleus-Level Benevolent Mutations
♀ Female Evolution
Women from the 22nd century onward are significantly more well-endowed than their 21st century counterparts. 22% of women possess the ability to lactate without ever becoming pregnant. Average natural life expectancy has remained largely unchanged.
♂ Male Evolution
Men’s average natural life expectancy has increased by 69%, to approximately 120 years. Age-related sperm decline has been delayed to around 111 years old — extending reproductive viability by generations.
VALORAN
Caucasian & European Heritage
A people deeply rooted in a legacy of exploration, conquest and cultural influence. The name evokes prestige and tradition — but also hints at the complexities of colonialism and cultural evolution that shaped their history across the centuries.
Valorans are the dominant ethnic group in the Terra Alliance and the Zorian Covenant, shaping the political and military landscape of Inner Sol.
Ordovox — the measured tongue of order and precision
IMPERIAL
East Asian Heritage
Representing the powerful, centralized and dynastic cultures of Asia. The name aligns with the Imperium of Dragons — a history of ancient power structures, imperial rule and unity across vast regions. Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Southeast Asian traditions converge under this lineage.
Imperials form the cultural backbone of the Imperium and have significant diaspora populations across Venus and Proxima Centauri.
Devavāṇī — flowing syllables that resonate with cosmic harmony · Reikan — a universal tongue the Imperium claims as its own
MARIDIAN
African & African Diaspora Heritage
Derived from Africa’s position where the prime meridian crosses the equator, symbolizing the continent’s role as a central point in global geography. A fluid name for a people with strong roots and deep connection to the world — like the vast rivers of the Nile, Congo and Niger.
Maridians are prominent in the Emerald Directorate and maintain powerful cultural enclaves across Mars and Venus.
Anansemka — resonant, earth-connected tones that pulse with life’s energy
DJINNO
Indian & Middle Eastern Heritage
Rich with mystical and legendary connotations, the name evokes the deep cultural and spiritual heritage of both India and the Middle East. Djinnos share a strong connection to the mystical — especially in psionics — and a resilience shaped by harsh environments across millennia.
Djinnos are found across every Realm, with particularly strong presence in the Imperium’s border territories and the Rakshasa Horde’s Proximan communities.
Devavāṇī · Karasav — the shadow tongue of Central Asian shamans
NORDLING
Nordic & Scandinavian Heritage
A strong, cultural term reflecting a connection to northern climates and a heritage of exploration, seafaring and myth. Nordlings carry a cultural pride tied to resilience, environmental endurance and community that made them the first people to colonize the Jovian moons — yet they are among the most persecuted peoples in the Seven Realms.
Since Primarch Skarn’s tyranny took hold on Jupiter, Nordlings have been shunned across human societies. Their psionic tongue — shared with the Fenris and Jǫkull Hordes — is commonly called “the tongue of man-eaters and beasts”, fueling discrimination.
Jǫturmál — the ancient tongue of frost and fury
NOVIAN
Latino & Hispanic Heritage
The “New World” association brings together the historical fusion of European, Indigenous and African roots in Latin America, along with their pioneering spirit. A name that feels both grounded and dynamic, capturing the multifaceted nature of Latin American cultures.
Novians share linguistic psionic traditions with both Valorans and Maridians, making them culturally versatile across the Terra Alliance and beyond.
Ordovox · Anansemka
PRIMORIAN
Native, Indigenous & Austronesian Heritage
Tied to the primordial peoples of the world — Taiwanese, Indonesian, Pacific Islander, and Indigenous communities across the globe. Primorians carry a spiritual bond with their environment that has only deepened across two centuries of space colonization. Their spiritual practices have influenced psionic research since humanity’s earliest contact with Aether.
Due to the Imperium of Dragons’ century-long conquest and cultural assimilation campaigns, many Primorians do not realize their true lineage — growing up believing they are Imperials. Even Nucleus Watches frequently fail to detect these misclassifications, leaving entire generations estranged from their ancestral roots.
Anansemka — rhythms that pulse with life’s energy
RADI-HUMAN
Nuclear-Breed Humans · Accelerated Growth Supersoldiers
Bioengineered humans created through controlled synthesis of genetic material in specialized breeding chambers. Radi-Humans retain fully human morphology while gaining enhanced durability and compressed development — reaching the biological equivalent of nineteen years old within nineteen months of gestation.
The average Radi-Human looks near impossible to assign to any single race. Their synthetic origins draw from genetic pools across every lineage, producing individuals of striking, ambiguous appearance. Fully sapient and emotionally complex, they exist in legal and social limbo — technically human, but born through processes that bypass natural reproduction entirely. Only a handful exist.
Varies — Radi-Humans inherit no ancestral linguistic tradition and may learn any psionic language, making them uniquely adaptable casters
NIRBOH
??? · Are they even human?
No one alive has seen a Nirboh. Yet across the 23rd century, the conviction that they exist — or once existed — grows stronger by the decade. Their self-repairing Indra Fountains dot the Seven Realms. Their bioengineering underpins the Rakshasa Horde’s most sacred technologies. Their ruins on Proxima Centauri predate human arrival by millennia.
Every culture disagrees on what Nirbohs were. Djinnos and non-Imperium Imperials believe them to be beings who found enlightenment alongside the ancient Buddha himself — entering Nirvana together, reachable only there. Valorans and Nordlings believe the Nirbohs are alien beings from another galaxy entirely. The truth remains the great unanswered question of the Nucleus universe.
Unknown — some scholars believe Devavāṇī or Reikan may derive from Nirboh communication, but no evidence is conclusive
Section II
Psionic Tongues
Six sacred languages channel the raw power of Aether into spell and incantation. Each carries the weight of the civilization that forged it.
ORDOVOX
Latin → “ordo” (order) + “vox” (voice)
Favored by: Valorans · Novians
The measured tongue of order and precision. Reflecting the structured nature of Latin and its association with clarity, Ordovox is a language of mysteries and old knowledge whose commanding syllables shape reality itself.
Sample Incantation — Lunar Shield
“Scutum Lunaris!”
ANANSEMKA
Akan → “Ananse” (spider trickster god) + “kasa” (speech)
Favored by: Maridians · Novians · Primorians · Tiamat Horde
Resonant, earth-connected tones that pulse with life’s energy. This language has evolved greatly in the 23rd century and now encompasses continental native languages that carry psionic power. Due to its total lack of a writing system, Anansemka fulfills a unique niche as a purely oral incantation tradition.
Sample Incantation — Moonfire Surge
“Asubɔnten ɛtɔkyɛre!”
(Ah-soo-bohn-tehn eh-toh-chyeh-reh!)
DEVAVĀṆĪ
Sanskrit → “Divine Language” · 天女語 (Tennyo-go)
Favored by: Djinnos · Imperials · Rakshasa Horde
Flowing, rhythmic cadence whose syllables resonate with cosmic harmony. Drawing from an ancient traditional name for Sanskrit, Devavāṇī sounds mystical and sacred — the language of choice for the Imperium’s most devastating combat psionics and the Rakshasa’s spiritual rites alike.
Sample Incantation — Crimson Meteor
“Rudhira Ultkā Patatu!”
(रुधिर उल्का पतत!)
JǪTURMÁL
Old Norse → “jǫtunn” (giant) + “mál” (speech) · 祖豚語
Favored by: Nordlings · Fenris Horde · Jǫkull Horde
The ancient tongue of frost and fury. Harsh, commanding syllables that invoke the mythological and primordial aspects of Norse culture. Commonly and disparagingly called “the tongue of man-eaters and beasts” — a stigma Nordlings bear across every Realm they enter.
Sample Incantation — Frost Moon Bolt
“Frost, bylgja!”
REIKAN
霊観 — “Spiritual Observation” · A universal tongue that bridges all cultures
Not bound to any race or faction
Discovered in 2025 Taiwan by an unknown scholar with a fascination for Japanese kanji and tantric Buddhism. This researcher uncovered a full-kanji language that was never meant for any single people — Reikan was designed to bridge all cultures. Despite Imperium propaganda claiming Reikan as an Imperial tongue, very few in the Seven Realms can actually speak it, and people of any ethnicity can learn it.
Learning Reikan does not require knowledge of any hieroglyphic language. Rather, it demands an acceptance of one’s own sexuality and spirituality — a prerequisite that makes it as much a journey inward as a linguistic study. Every Reikan spell is expressed in exactly three kanji.
Sample Incantations
心従令 — Shin-Jū-Rei · Mind Dominion
夢鎖眠 — Mu-Sa-Min · Dream Chain Sleep
霊透視 — Rei-Tō-Shi · Spirit Sight
KARASAV
Chagatai Turkic → قاراساۋ — “Black Decree”
Favored by: Central Asian Djinnos · Imperium Border Territories
Rooted in the traditions of the kara kam — Black Shamans who negotiated with Erlik, judge of the dead. Low guttural consonants, clipped vowels and hard stops lend themselves to whispered incantations and long-distance spell coherence. Practitioners rarely raise their voices. Among the six psionic languages, Karasav is the least studied — and those who master it tend not to advertise the fact.
Sample Incantation — Black Snare
“Kara Tuzaq!”
(قارا توزاق)
Section III
Psionic Schools
Five aspects of cosmic power, each with its own philosophy, temperament and price. Select a school to explore its spells.
Lunar psionics channels the moon’s tranquil, mutable energy. The easiest school to learn, the most versatile — and the hardest to master. Among the Atomic Accord’s census: 69% of Lunar adepts are female, 29% male, 2% non-binary.
Jǫturmál · Offense
Frost Moon Bolt
“Frost, bylgja!”
A concentrated bolt of freezing Lunar energy launched from the caster’s hand. Reliable, fast, and devastating at range.
Anansemka · Offense
Moon-Enchanted Bolts
“Bɔlae Sika!”
(Baw-lah-eh See-kah!)
Psionic projectiles imbued with Lunar resonance. Favored by Maridian combat psions for rapid-fire engagements.
Ordovox · Defense
Lunar Shield
“Scutum Lunaris!”
A shimmering barrier of Lunar energy that absorbs incoming attacks. One of the most commonly taught defensive spells in Alliance academies.
Devavāṇī · Offense
Moon Strike
“Chandraśila Pravāha!”
A devastating current of Lunar force channeled through Devavāṇī’s flowing syllables, shaping raw gravity into a focused strike.
Solar psionics draws from the sun’s boundless warmth and luminosity — a beacon of the positive principle. Healing, enhancement and radiance. 60% of adepts are male, 40% female. Masters can photosynthesize, forgoing food entirely while basking in sunlight.
Ordovox · Offense
Blinding Light
“Lux Caecans!”
A flash of pure Solar radiance that sears vision and overwhelms psionic senses. Leaves targets disoriented and vulnerable — a favored opener among Valoran Solar adepts.
Jǫturmál · Offense
Dawn’s Spear
“Dagrspjót Bjart!”
(Dah-gr-spyoht Byart!)
A piercing bolt of concentrated dawn-light. Travels faster than most Lunar projectiles, trading area coverage for pinpoint accuracy.
Ordovox · Defense
Sun Shield
“Scutum Solis!”
A blazing barrier of Solar radiance. Burns anything that contacts it while protecting the caster from physical and psionic harm.
Ordovox · Healing
Radiant Restoration
“Lux Sanatio.”
A measured invocation that channels Solar warmth into wounded flesh, knitting bone and closing wounds. The calm precision of Ordovox makes it the preferred healing incantation in Alliance field hospitals.
Drawing from the tumultuous convergence of cosmic bodies, Eclipse embodies raw, unbridled power. Purely aggressive, unparalleled in offensive might. Many institutions dissuade students from studying it — its association with terrorism and the sacrificial nature of its strongest spells have tainted its reputation.
Devavāṇī · Offense
Blood Finger Spear
“Māṃsa Śalya!”
(Maa-m-sa Sha-lya!)
The caster’s own blood hardens into a piercing projectile. A signature Rakshasa Eclipse technique — painful to cast, lethal to receive.
Ordovox · Offense
Crimson Shadow Bolt
“Umbra Rubra Fulgur!”
A bolt of Eclipse energy wreathed in dark red shadow. Standard combat spell for Valoran Eclipse practitioners — fast, efficient, deadly.
Devavāṇī · Enhancement
Blood Frenzy
“Rakta Unmāda — Pravartatām!”
Augments the caster or allies with berserk strength — at the cost of the caster’s own flesh, consumed to fuel the enhancement.
Karasav · Trap
Black Snare
“Kara Tuzaq!”
(قارا توزاق)
An Eclipse trap laid in silence. Binds and corrodes anything that triggers it — the whispered weapon of Central Asian shadow psions.
Mirage bends the boundaries of real and illusion — a school of allure, control and deception. Rich elites and celebrities frequently dabble in it to enhance charm at social gatherings. Its masters exude undeniable charisma — and are often accused of being disingenuous or dangerously possessive.
Devavāṇī · Enchantment
Dreamless Slumber
“Māṇikya Suṣupti”
Forces the target into a deep, dreamless sleep. A spell of mercy or ambush — depending on who casts it.
Reikan · Domination
Mind Dominion
心従令
(Shin-Jū-Rei)
Three kanji that command absolute obedience. The ultimate Mirage spell — dominion over another’s thoughts. Mastered by a scant few; feared by all who know its name.
Anansemka · Defense
Amethyst Barrier
“Bo-oh-deh Ntwamudua!”
A violet crystalline barrier woven from illusion and willpower. Deflects both physical and psionic attacks while distorting the caster’s position.
Devavāṇī · Illusion
Mirror Mirage
“Darpaṇa Māyājāla!”
Creates illusory duplicates of the caster, each capable of independent action. The reflections scatter attention and sow confusion in combat.
Tapped from the inscrutable vastness of the cosmos. Emblematic of silence, cold and the expanse of space. Void demands a logical, analytical mind — and prolonged use dampens emotions. In extreme cases, practitioners become detached and heartless, viewing the world with icy indifference.
Devavāṇī · Negation
Nullification
“Śūnyatā Śāntih.”
Cancels an incoming spell entirely, dissolving its Aether back into the cosmos. The quintessential Void counter — silence answering fury.
Jǫturmál · Offense
Iron Breath
“Járn-önd!”
A frigid exhalation charged with Void energy. Freezes and corrodes metallic structures — devastating against armored targets and machinery.
Jǫturmál · Control
Bone Grip
“Beinaklifr!”
Seizes control of the target’s skeletal structure, immobilizing them from within. A cruel and efficient restraint favored by Nordling Void specialists.
Karasav · Stealth
Shadow Veil
“Kölägä Ton.”
(كۆلەگە تون)
Void cloaking that grants invisibility — but breaks upon injury or arousal. The cost of concealment is perfect stillness of mind and body.
Seven races. Two mysteries. Six tongues. Five schools of power.
One universe where all of it collides.
