Emmanuel Boateng
Fusion Smith • Forge Zenith
Emmanuel tried to be a Griot once. Made it through two years of Directorate training before admitting the truth: he’d rather take apart a plasma rifle than learn another war hymn. His instructors called it a waste. He called it knowing himself.
Now his dreadlocks carry scorch marks from welding sparks, and his hands tell stories in burn scars. The shotgun Sigrun named Skuld came from his forge. So did the modifications on Marcus’s shield. He met Xin back in 2292 during a satellite job that went sideways. They saved a lot of lives that day, though the algorithm only remembered that Xin missed a deadline. Emmanuel quit contracting the next week. Some things matter more than ratings.

Taṇhā
Wild Fang • Shashan
Taṇhā grew up in Shashan’s deep forests, raised by older Wild Fangs and fed by Rakshasa settlements she never formally joined. Moro’s followers tried to recruit her more than once. She ate their food, traded their goods, and never signed anything. She has no property, no citizenship, and no strong opinions on galactic politics. What she has is a chain-blade, a nose for contracts, and a willingness to work for anyone whose money spends.
Queen Maren’s money was specific: find Sigrun Fjeld, deliver her to the Fenris Horde. Tanha took the contract the same way she takes all contracts — the ideology doesn’t enter into it. Maren offered enough Atomic Dollars to keep her in chocolate and hot baths for a year. That was the whole calculation. She doesn’t care about the Nordic Commonwealth’s civil war, Skarn’s ambitions, or what the Horde plans to do with the princess once she’s delivered. Those are problems for people who attend meetings.
In combat, she channels Solar psionics like they’re disposable — eyes go bright gold, chain-blade spinning, grinning like something’s funny. It usually isn’t. Beneath the feral edges lies warmth she won’t admit to, and she gets attached to people faster than she’d ever say out loud. Finds clothing suffocating. Will kill for chocolate.

Hreint
Elder Skuggr • Oshun’s Bust Aqueduct
Most Skuggrs are deployed, used, and forgotten. Hreint is what happens when one isn’t. Years stationed in the Aqueduct beneath Oshun’s Bust — processing female captives before transfer to Draug conversion or Breast Barrow integration — gave him something no Genesis Pond engineer planned for. A sustained diet of female biological matter pushed his intelligence past every recorded Skuggr ceiling. He can speak now. He can calculate. He still dissolves armor plating with his bile, but he does it with opinions.
His domain is a restroom he keeps immaculate. Captives who pass through his care are cleaned with a thoroughness his masters never required and a gentleness they certainly never requested. He has accumulated a small collection of human artifacts — packaging, receipts, transit cards and sex manuals — that he cannot read but refuses to discard. He isn’t sure why he keeps them. He suspects his masters would not understand the question.
When Sigrun Fjeld came through the Aqueduct, he recognized her the only way available to his species: direct taste of her rectum and feces through deep anilingus. Her genetic markers were unmistakable. His response was not to sound an alarm. He declared, in the clipped pronoun-stripped syntax that passes for his speech, that he would not be delivering her anywhere. His reasoning was practical: Skarn’s total victory would make every woman’s biological signature the same. Homogenous. Boring. Hreint has standards, and Skarn’s endgame is bad for them.
